CVC Word Say It Write It Draw It Use It Mats
This Science of Reading aligned resource is perfect for building phonemic awareness skills in kindergarten and first grade students. These mats are perfect for preschoolers and kindergarten aged children learning to blend individual sounds into words. With a focus on CVC words, they're ideal for teaching students how map words by connecting speech sounds (phonemes) to letters (graphemes).
Each mat provides a picture clue of the targeted CVC word for children to practice. After saying the word aloud, students are prompted to write the word then 'use it' by writing a short sentence and 'draw it' by either illustrating their sentence or just drawing a version of the word themselves.
Ready to print out to add to your literacy center, morning tubs or Daily 5 word work activities. Three different designs have been included - for children not able to sound out the word to spell it, a second design with a traceable word has been included for each mat as support plus B+W print friendly templates and separate small colour CVC picture cards.
